Health Check is a comprehensive preventive health care program for patients under the age of 21 who are eligible for Medicaid. This program is funded by the state and federal government.
The purpose of the Health Check Program is to improve children’s access to preventive health care services such as well child check-ups, immunizations, sick visits, dental care, and prescriptions.
The Health Check Program goals are as follows:
- Ensure parents are aware of Health Check services and availability
- Ensure children have a medical home
- Ensure children have transportation in order to access healthcare
- Improve children’s participation in receiving routine physical examinations and required school age immunizations
