The Month of May is finally upon us, and we at 4C are getting our stride into community events! Starting with a downtown favorite of the City of Fayetteville, Fourth Fridays! Here, we had the opportunity to reach people in the community and teach them the importance of their health and well-being by providing No Cost Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar checks for any that would be interested.

It was an impressive turnout! Both our outreach nurses were definitely busy but delighted they were able to help out as many people as they could. People were excited that Fourth Fridays were starting back up again; but it was no surprise that most were not aware, but with the Dogwood Festival (the city's biggest spring event of the year, on a Fourth Friday) coming up after this March Fourth Friday event, we expect a bigger turnout.

And a BIGGER TURNOUT WE GOT. Though we only stayed for the night, and the Dogwood Festival carried on into the weekend, it was a grand sight to behold. We were able to serve many people that night, and a special shoutout to our Nurse of the evening, Ms. Shelina, for her tireless work in getting as many people served as she did! We appreciate the hard work done that evening! Another great moment came from our special guest and unofficial mascot of Carolina Collaborative Community Care; the lovely MS. VHAGAR (pronounced "Vay-gar")and she was (as always) the star of the show! Many were in awe of her, stopping by to see her, and she took it all in stride, as well as a bearded dragon could take it in a lively event.
Speaking of turnout, our Community Partner, Greater Life of Fayetteville and 4C have been doing a Men's Workshop (young focused, but also for other groups at times) called "Tight'N It Up"- a workshop for young men that can help provide both mentors and resources. Here's a flyer

We know there is a lot of work ahead of us, but we here at Carolina Collaborative Community Care, along with our partners and allies, are ready to serve our community a multitude of ways to make our community a healthier, happier, well-lived community.
